Introduction

People are different, each with their own unique personality. Churches are different also, and we'd like to introduce you to Solid Rock Christian Center  and what is distinctive about our personality.  By the way, when we say distinctive, we don't mean "better than," just different!

Becoming a part of a church is a big decision.  People need to be confident of the beliefs and practices of the church they belong to.  In this introduction to Solid Rock we'll share about our mission, priorities, goals, and other information to help you see if Solid Rock Christian Center  is for you.  So read on!

Our Foundational Perspective...

For believers to truly grow they must first understand God's love.  At Solid Rock Church, we teach and affirm God's grace given to those who trust in Christ, and in the solidarity of the believer's position before the Father through Jesus.  The Bible teaches the believer's complete acquittal from guilt of sin secured through Jesus' death on the cross.  This liberating truth dispels guilt, condemnation, and frees us to love God and grow in our relationship with Him.

As a result we emphasize the need for each individual to develop qualities that mark a growing Christian:

Honesty before God in all things. ( 1John  1:7-10)

Simplicity of love and devotion to Jesus. (II Corinthians 11:1-4)

Sensitivity to His heart and voice. (Romans 8:1-11 )

Responsiveness to His Word. (Hebrews 3:7-11 )

Availability for ministry. (I Peter 4:7-11)

Flexibility for change and growth. ( Ephesians 4:7-16 )

It is our desire that Solid Rock Christian Center be a church that provides instruction, training, and an environment for believers to realize their full destiny in Christ.  This is in keeping with our belief that every believer is a "minister."  Church leaders are equippers of the saints, helping them grow and mature in their own ministries. (Ephesians 4:11-12)

In our contemporary culture so many have experienced some degree of pain, injury, and dysfunction that needs to be healed. Only through an atmosphere of love, acceptance, and forgiveness can people find healing and restoration.  For this reason, we resist the legalism of religious systems and encourage an honest, genuine spirituality where people are free to express their struggles and failures without fear of rejection. We deeply value spiritual authenticity and believe it vital for reaching people with the good news of Jesus Christ.

At Soild Rock Christian Center we value the celebration of Jesus through contemporary worship and praise.  We seek to enjoy God and one another when we gather. We value spontaneity and a relaxed casual atmosphere, yet we contend always for Jesus' manifest presence in our meetings.  We also appreciate humor and how it helps us not take ourselves too seriously.  We are far from perfect and it shows!  Our joy is that God promises to make Jesus shine though us despite our inadequacies.
